It is also highly recommended to eat a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. You can lower your cholesterol levels by consuming food that is low in trans fat, cholesterol, and trans fat and high in fiber. You can lower your blood pressure by cutting down on salt. Having high cholesterol levels and blood pressure increases your risk of a stroke.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Maintaining the Right Weight<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another risk factor for stroke is being overweight. You can check if your weight is right for your health by calculating your BMI or body mass index. You just need to know your height and weight to compute this. Health professionals sometimes measure the hip and waist to check the amount of excess body fat.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Being Active<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Doing physical activities helps maintain the right weight and reduces your blood pressure and cholesterol levels. The recommended moderate-intensity aerobic activity for an adult is around 2 hours and 30 minutes. This can be achieved by brisk walking every week.
